Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. VOID ELSEWHERE AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1. Eligibility: The OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® Solution 14 Hours of Freedom ("Sweepstakes") is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia 18 years of age and older. The following are not eligible: employees, contractors, directors and officers of Alcon Laboratories Inc. (the "Sponsor"), its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, legal, judging and Sweepstakes agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Sweepstakes (collectively, "Sweepstakes Parties"), and the immediate family members of each (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in their same households (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least six months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Sweepstakes).
2. Sweepstakes Period: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 am CST on 12/15/09 and ends on 5/15/10 at 11:59:59 pm CDT.
3. To Enter: There are two (2) methods of entry: online and via mail. To Enter Online: Purchase either OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® Solution 10 ounce carton or twin pack carton and look for the entry code printed inside the carton. During the Sweepstakes Period visit www.14HoursofFreedom.com, enter the entry code and complete the online registration form to receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. Automated methods of entry are prohibited. To Enter Via Mail: To enter the Sweepstakes without an entry code or purchase, on a piece of paper, approximately 3" by 5", legibly hand-print your name, complete home address (no P.O. boxes please), date of birth, daytime phone number, and mail your entry to: OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® Solution 14 Hours of Freedom Sweepstakes AMOE, P.O. Box 518 Elmhurst, IL 60126. Entry must be mailed in a hand-addressed, postmarked outer envelope. Limit one (1) mailed entry per outer postmarked envelope. Entries must be postmarked by 5/15/10 and received by 5/22/10. No photocopies or mechanically reproduced entries allowed. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or postage-due entries or mail. Entries are property of Sponsor and will not be returned. All entries, whether submitted online or via email, have an equal chance of winning. Limit one (1) entry per person/email address per day and three (3) entries per person/email address total, regardless of entry method.
4. Drawing, Prize and Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): Winners will be selected in a random drawing which will be held on or about 5/26/10 ("Drawing") from all entries received by the administrator of the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Winners are subject to verification.
One (1) Grand Prize: A trip for winner and one (1) guest ("Guest") to one of 14 destinations in the Continental US. The winner may choose from the following destinations: Washington, D.C.; Martha's Vineyard; Vail, CO; San Francisco, CA; South Padre Island, TX; Napa, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Boston, MA; Orlando, FL; Miami, FL; Seattle, WA; Chicago, IL; Manhattan, NY; or Las Vegas, NV. The Trip includes: (a) round-trip coach air transportation for two from a major gateway airport near the Grand Prize Winner's residence to the selected destination; (b) four (4) days and three (3) nights double occupancy hotel accommodations; (c) ground transportation to and from the airport and hotel. The airport, airline, hotel and ground transportation will be selected at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Winner and travel companion must travel on same itinerary. Guest must be of legal age of majority in his or her state of residence. Winner and Guest are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents prior to departure date for domestic travel (e.g., government issued ID). All other expenses and costs not expressly listed above including, but not limited to, gratuities, luggage fees, meals, taxes, September 11th Security Fees, Passenger Facility Charges, fees, surcharges for each paper ticket issued where electronic ticketing is available, segment fees and purchases made during trip, are entirely the Grand Prize Winner's responsibility. The prize must be accepted as described herein. Sponsor has the final authority on the interpretation of these Grand Prize related terms and conditions and reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without prior notice. Travel must be booked thirty (30) days in advance. Trip must be booked by 4/15/11 and completed by 5/15/11. Estimated ARV of Grand Prize: $4,000. Actual value of Grand Prize trip may vary based upon destination. Any difference between estimated ARV and actual value of the trip will not be awarded.
Fourteen (14) First Prizes: A $100 iPhone gift card or $100 Visa gift card at prize winner's choice. Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions set by issuer. One Hundred Forty-Four (144) Second Prizes: A 10 oz. bottle of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® Solution solution. ARV: $10.49.
For All Prizes: No cash equivalent for the prizes will be offered. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor's sole discretion. If a prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute that prize with another prize of equal or greater value. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use, and Grand Prize winner will be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the value of the prize. Total ARV of all prizes: $6,910.56.
5. General Conditions: By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsor's Privacy Policy (available at www.14HoursofFreedom.com) which are final and binding in all respects. Grand Prize Winner will be notified by phone and/or mail and will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within ten (10) days of attempted notification or Prize may be forfeited. First and Second Prizes will be shipped to winners within 4 to 6 weeks of winner verification. If any prize or prize correspondence is returned as non-deliverable, prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus or bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes. In the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from eligible non-suspect entries received prior to cancellation and mail-in entries. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process. This Sweepstakes is governed by, and will be construed in accordance with the laws of Texas, without regard for conflicts of law doctrine, and participants agree that all proceedings shall take place in the federal or state courts in Texas.
6. Limitations of Liability and Release: No liability or responsibility is assumed by Sponsor or Sweepstakes Parties resulting from user's participation in or attempt to participate in the Sweepstakes or download any information in connection with participating in the Sweepstakes. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor or Sweepstakes Parties for technical problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the Sweepstakes: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent to or received; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestions on the Internet or the Web Site; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Sweepstakes, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an account used in connection with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site. Use of the Web Site is at user's own risk. Sponsor is not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By participating in the Sweepstakes, the entrant thereby releases Sponsor from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes. By acceptance of prize, Winner agrees to release Sponsor and Sweepstakes Parties from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses of any kind to person or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Sweepstakes; from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; or from any typographical or other error in the Official Rules or the offering and announcement of prize. Except if Winner is a resident of TN or where prohibited by law, Winner grants permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, for advertising and/or publicity purposes, in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without additional compensation.
ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR TAMPER WITH WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION; AND IF SUCH INDIVIDUAL ENTERS THE SWEEPSTAKES HE OR SHE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
